Alexandre Tharaud has distinguished himself as one of France’s leading pianists through his “exemplary mixture of bravura virtuosity and cool intelligence” (The Boston Globe). Recognized on the international stage as an artist of unique vision and originality displaying “a sense of inwardness achieved through the finest gradations of volume, tone and color” (Chicago Tribune), he has received accolades for his brilliantly conceived programs and bestselling recordings that range from Bach, Chopin, Rameau, and Ravel to music inspired by Parisian cabarets of the 1920s.
